For our February meeting, we will be hosting Jeffery Houser from Dot Com It Consulting and Flextras. Jeff will be giving us a basics course on creating components with the Flex Framework. Our meeting will be held on Feb 11th, 2010 in room 161 of the Communication Arts and Science Building on the Campus of Michigan State University. On January 14th, 2010 at 7pm, the Michigan Flex Users Group will be having a meeting about the Data Centric Application Development model in Flash Builder 4 and Flex 4. We will be showing some of the new features being introduced into the upcoming IDE. We will show how you can integrate your applications using XML, Web Services, or directly with PHP or ColdFusion. Copies of the latest version of Flash Builder 4 will be available at the meeting, and those that choose to install it can follow along with us.

For our December meeting, we are partnering up with a few other local user groups like the Greater Lansing .NET Users Group and the Mid-Michigan ColdFusion Users Group to bring you Lansing's first DemoCamp! This DemoCamp is sponsored by TechSmith and will feature YOUR projects that you want to show the rest of the community. As we mentioned in our meetings, by the request of our membership, we have installed some forum software that will allow our community to connect and share ideas.
You can go to http://www.TheFlexGroup.org/forums and check them out.
Most sections are available to the public, but the jobs boards are reserved for members of the Michigan Flex Users Group. We will be phasing out our external Job List by the end of this year.

On November 12th, 2009, we will be having a meeting on the Papervision3D framework, to create 3D environments within your Flex and AIR applications. We will be meeting at 7pm in room 161 Communication Arts and Sciences, on the Campus of Michigan State University. This will be a BYOL (Bring Your Own Laptop) meeting, where we will be creating an application from the ground up in a way everybody can follow along.
